We have a new Sacramento Aquatic Plants Society now!! The Sacramento Aquatic Plant Society (Sacramento, CA) - Meetup.com So far no meeting location, but suggestions welcomed. In the next few days I will find a place - wouldn't it be great if it could be at Fish Planet??
This weeks meeting was a good one - we had a dozen people there, some lights to test with the club PAR meter, and enough plants to share. The meeting room at that pizza place is a very good one too.
Now, we just need someone to give a good presentation about some planted tank subject and we can have a good December or January meeting too.
I have some rotala "red", and rotala mac floating in my tank for the meeting. I may have a few other plants as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
Nice meeting everyone at the meeting yesterday! Riccia....that stuff gets everywhere. Good thing i put it in a bowl to see how it floats before putting it in. I also found 2 shrimp!.
SAPS is currently always on the second Wednesday of the month on Howe.
SAS - of which several of us are members of as well - does meet on the first Saturday of every month out in Folsom on Greenback. They also have plants, but those are auctioned off, but I often will bring extras to just give away to SAPS members if they are planning to hit up the SAS auction and cant make it to a regular meeting, or just arrange a time and place to meet outside of the "formal meeting time and place" to do a swap or just give stuff away if that works better. I can also always lug the SAPS box with me so you can dig through it and see if you want anything out of it or if you want to add anything to it.
If I have anything you might want, let me know, and if you can't make it for a regular meeting, or like you missed a meeting and dont wanna want a whole month, lemme know and I can see what I can kick down. My tanks all still could take another trimming and I'm about to yank all the stuff that was sitting in my QA tank to disperse throughout my tanks, and I probably will wind up with leftovers.
I've never been to a meeting yet, just getting into planted tanks and wanted to meet everyone and learn from their experiences. I've been reading this forum, and didnt realize that some people are actually close to me
Yo anyone have a lot of fast growing plants that they can trim for me? My new tank is getting algae and I need to add more plants until everything else grows in. Thanks!
Hey Who has the PAR meter and can it be brought to the meeting this coming month? I need to measure the light in my tank. Thanks!
