I have high hopes to have it up and running by next week with livestock. It is currently housing a bearded dragon.
How it use to look
I need to seal up the overflows and reseal one seam. Assuming these two things can be done tomorrow I will move forward with adding livestock this coming Friday.
Nice sps corals you have in that picture. Any reason why you decided to go from reef to planted? Aside from that i look forward to looking at the developments of your future planted tank.
Be sure to cycle the tank. It looks like you know what your doing, but getting livestock in a week is pretty rough on the fish if there is no bacteria in the filter.
People kinda worry a bit too much I believe about putting fish in too soon and not letting a tank cycle but in my experience as long as its heavily planted and you do daily or bi daily water changes in the first few weeks the plants and w/c take care of any ammonia buildup. Personally ive never had a problem doing that in addition I usually add some ceramic rings from a cycled tank into the new one just in case.
Do you have any idea how you will scape this tank? Really excited to see what you will do!
Daaaamn. I want that take for my pleco once he gets bigger. Where can I find one of those buggers(tanks)?
Have you figured out your plant or fish list yet?
