i have about 12 or more crs in a 1 ft tank with a very large sponge fillter and 25watt heater with some moss tied 2 drift wood and some java fern.
i just want 2 know how big or old do my crs have 2 be 2 breed and will they be ok 2 breed in a 1ft tank??
I wouldn't know for sure unless you told me the volume of the tank, not the length. But, I will take a guess and say that it is fine. You probably have a 10 gallon tank, which can hold many shrimp. I have probably over 120 RCS in a 10g, along with 11 CRS.
12L = 3.2 gallons I believe. Not much room for error there with sensitive CRS. I kept reading that it is very difficult to keep CRS in small nanos. You may need to watch parameters very close, and match water at change time. I tried a few different species of shrimp in my 4.3 gallon tanks and did not have luck.
I have a 5.5 gallon tank with a breeding colony of RCS, haven't had much problems other than smaller shrimp staying in the duckweed and not moving when I thin out the plant population...
i have had the csr in their 4 about 3 weeks - a month they seem fine and i do a water change every week
