they like to borrow in the substrate.. so i got some zoo med riversand to mix like a one to one ratio with cocofibers.. to at least 4".. and fill with water to about the 2" mark.. some others had water features.. some just moss.. i was going to use the mix and still have to stuff for when i am ready.. also.. i was going to enclose the top.. to keep in mositure |

hmmm I was planning on using ABG substrate with 4" deep substrate. I hope they'll make it. What kind of water conditions should I be shooting for?

i believe they will like the moist.. but not some much saturated..
i was looking for like a bowl that i can place in the substrate.. to see if the would actually like being in the water.. but i believe they are terrestrial then anything |

hmmm. So is it the transit for shipping or what is the ultimate killer? And substrate wise, I was planning on having it moist but not water logged (since in a high humidity set-up, dry substrate is pretty much impossible to achieve) - thoughts?

Its all about providing them caves
Temperature in the lower 70s Light humidity, with a water feature. I like to provide more dry area in the tank and more wet area. I provide plenty of live food in the form of crickets and superworms. I provide crab pellets and take them out of tank after 6-7 hours. Substrate I use common cocofiber, they will burrow into it. I just got a batch of 50 in, I had some dead on arrival as per usual, but once they chill out in the tank they will be fine. The real hope is to get a mix of male/female and harvest baby crabs. Right now I have red devils which are showing great red color and common yellow/purples. They really do require dry and wet areas in the tank. -Gordon
