CO2 question


Is it ok to go regulator to needle valve to solenoid?
Right now it is set up reg>sol>needle

It's preferred and recommended to have the solenoid before the needle valve.

I recommend not changing it from the current setup. Regulator --> solenoid --> needle valve is the best orientation.

regulator to needle valve to solenoid

you will still end up using a needle valve on the solenoid to a bubble counter.
so really no point.

I've never seen one built that way, but off the top of my head I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work. I can't imagine that a solenoid valve flow coefficient would be less than that of a needle valve. But why change the current setup?

I was thinking the same, I don't see why it wouldn't work but I have never seen it set up that way, except when someone is using an inline solenoid, so it has to work fine. If you are using a bubble counter on the regulator, that will make it more bulky as you need an extra "L" fitting or have the solenoid pointing upwards, making it taller.

I don't see any advantage of changing it.
