Berried RCS
I am pretty psyched to see that one of my RCS is majorly berried. I didnt notice until today given her dark red color. What are some signs that the babies are ready to come out?
I just set up a second shrimp tank so I can separate my RCS from my yellows. Thanks. |

When they are really close you can see little black eyes forming on individual eggs...well, if your eyes are capable of looking at something that small ; )

Grats! Keep your fingers crossed that she doesn't drop the eggs; it's fairly common for that to happen once or twice before they carry them to term. If she is cooperative, you can get a good look at the eggs when she's near the tank wall via a magnifying glass. If she doesn't tend to come near the glass (berried shrimp are often extra shy) then you might be able to get her to cling to a bamboo skewer or twig by placing it in front of her and holding it still. The shrimp gets curious, climbs on and starts picking at it, and you can move it close to the glass for a better look.
