So I've been looking into redoing my 29 gallon L tank. So I'd like to dirt that bad boy. I found info on mineralizing soil here http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/...-mineralized-soil-substrate-aaron-talbot.html the instructions call for Dolomite and Muriate of Potash which is spread on the bottom of the aquarium before adding the dirty. My question is can I just substitute the dolomite and Muriate of potash with some crushed coral and potassium sulfate? I'm pretty sure the sulfate of potash will be fine as a substitute but if I'm wrong please let me know. I can remember reading that K2SO4 was easier on plant root but had a little less potassium. One last thing I was thinking early I would add some Epsom Salt for Mag to the bottom layer would that be a good or bad idea? The reason why I ask is because I have this stuff in my house already so I don't want to buy something I don't need. Thanks in advance for the advice!
