Refer to the diagram. Could be phosphate deficiency.

If this is a new plant to you was it bought from a store? Store bought plants are grown hydroponically with leaves in the air. Those leaves don't live long underwater and new leaves will grow that are adapted to underwater life. If this is 'Compacta' then the air leaves have long petioles compared to the blades and water leaves have short petioles and long leaf blades. If this is so just trim off the dying leaves and watch for new growth, it should be coming along soon.

Im almost 99% sure it was grown submersed. Unless it was grown emersed and then
right before I got it they submersed it? (at petco) The growth looked pretty good and it was about to flower when I picked it up. I have only had it for maybe four weeks now. I have looked at all the charts for deficiencies and many look very similar. I have cut it for now and I shall wait to see how the new growth develops and go from there! thanks everyone
