Question

Emersed stem ID

I have a stem that I am growing emersed right now that I lost the ID for a LONG long time ago, though I think it is a hygro of some sort. It has kinda diamond shaped leaves, green emeresed, but when I put it under water it turns dark maroon, or at least I think so. It has been years since it has been submerged. It is a fast grower and can handle low humidity. The only thing I can find that even looks close to it is Staurogyne sp. 'Rio Araguaia', the flower looks the same except mine is purple and the underwater growth doesn't so I am fooled. So anyway here are some pictures I took today:

Thanks so much everyone!

Looks like Hygrophila corymbosa to me.

Do you mean Hygrophila corymbosa aka the "giant hygro"??? if so, nah that's not it because I have that plant also, and when grown submerged it's leaves are half or less of Hygrophila corymbosa leaves. That one looks so close thought..

thanks thought, I was hoping you or a few others would pop up and maybe have had this one or something...

Oh and a bit of info I forgot to add is, the veins are textured on the leaf and it will stay that way when submerged.

Really?? hmm, maybe I should put some under water then, I haven't done it in so many years! it was from my first year of keeping plants. Thanks!

hmm, I think so but my memory is a little hazy about that. I don't think it is very stong smell but it has a little I believe.
