i am not sure what cause it. i have a school of 7 tiger barbs and 2 of them started loosing tail fins. i would say half of it is gone. they been kinda outcasted by the rest. i am not sure if it is other barbs nibbling it off or it is fin rot or something else? only the tail fins are effected. it did not happen same time, but 1 after another. any ideas?
You should monitor the school of barbs towards that one you have losing it's fins. I've owned some barbs for quite some time now and never had that issue... take some pictures of that barb and post them here, that way It's easier for us to determine the problem.
I used to have a small school of barbs that had similar fin damage. Turned out to be due to fin nipping. Keep an eye on them and see if you have an overly aggressive barb.
Haha yeah. I had to give mine back to the LFS because I had one guy that was such a prick he literally killed like 3 of my school. He would harass them so much that they would hide behind my heater and they would lose all their color and normally die the next morning due to stress.
