future trimming dwarf sagittaria?

I was thinking about picking up some of these for the background corner but how do you trim a long leaf plant like this? (is it the same at dwarf hairgrass?)

i use them mid-ground and i just trim them at an angle when they get too long for my liking. I keep them between 4-6 inches long at most.

Interestingly enough, mine don't grow any taller than 3 inches even in lower light conditions.

I have mine in low light/low tech and they stay super short, like dwarf hair grass length. Then again, I plan on adding diy co2 and iron/potassium into the mix so that might make my plants grow taller. There are lots of runners though, I can tell you that much.

I have had some that reached 8 inches or so under low light. I usually just trim them right from the bottom, but I make sure that newer leaves are coming up first.
