I just mixed up my first batch of liquid fertilizer. The problem that I am having is that the dry ferts arent readily dissolving in the water. Is this normal? I used the petalphile calculator to get the necessary grams.
I waited 2 days and it wouldn't dissolve. I ended up boiling the water first and then adding it to the solution. It dissolved immediatley and looks great. I also added excel to both the macro and micro mixture to help avoid any mold or fungus.
If you don't try to make such a concentrated solution, you won't have problems dissolving the chemicals. I don't see any advantage to using higher concentrations than what dissolves easily and quickly. I use tap water, which is pretty soft, and add about 1 tsp of KNO3 to 16 ounces of water, plus smaller quantities of the other chemicals. Never a problem.
