Hey all,
As the title suggests, I killed off nearly all of the three types of moss in my tank over the past few months.
Christmas, Taiwan and Flame moss to be exact.
All other plants (parva, needle leave java fern among others) are doing excellent.
The mosses I placed on the rocks simply did not grow. The ones on the driftwood grew beautifully but then slowly became just long strands of moss...sort of like nasty hair.
I did notice that this process accelerated as summer began and wore on - and it was a hot summer.
I'm wondering if its my high water temp of 80F but I've heard of many people maintaining mosses between 26-28C.
My water PH is very high (max's out those strip tests) and I dose some Flourish nutriesnts twice a week and excel once a week with 50% water changes.
Any suggestions?
I wanted something closer to this....

instead of all the bare driftwood.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!
