Do pygmy cories only do well with fine sand substrates, or can they also live with a moss covered substrate like this:

I've kept small Cories for a long time - even in really fine sand - and have never had much of an uprooting problem with them.

My C. habrosus love to rest on mounds of moss or on small Crypt leaves and seem to only dig around in open spaces. They'll have enough space in the 12gal long with all that moss that they won't make a noticeable mess.

C. pygmaeus aren't much for staying on the bottom of the tank, though, and tend to dart about in open water.
