Terrestrial mosses

I went hiking today and found some cool moss that I kept thinking would look great in a shrimp tank.

While looking for moss pics on Google, I came across one of a guy harvesting a terrestrial moss for a shrimp tank. What would happen if I used a terrestrial moss?

I forgot the specifics but I read about some people being able to transition them to a fully submerged state without dying. Good luck though and be sure to wash wash wash to get rid of pesticides and whatnot.

I didn't harvest any because I was in a National Park and I assume you can't take things from the parks.

Unless you have the moss in the back of your filter or something, where it can be exposed to both water and open air, I think the moss would end up dying :\

base on my experience collecting stuff in my hikes, the only time you are sure if the moss can grow in the water is if its under water, but even then they might only be temporary. Finding moss like fissidens are your best bet as well as small liverworts. The only time i was able to find some bryophyte that looks like it could survive underwater is in small remote micro habitat near a moving stream.

The first moss look like it would not grow, the second one might grow but it'll probably stretch and look wiry.

I came across some moss too - it was growing in my backyard.
According to a few people here, if the moss survives 1-2 months submerged, it may survive in your tank.
