Trouble with Sunsun filter impeller

I recently just set up a sunsun filter model 304B with the UV sterilizer. I am immediately encountering problems. It started out working perfectly fine and I was trying to prime it. I turned it off and turned it back on again and then it stopped working. Turns out everytime I turn it off, the impeller housing comes loose so I have to take it apart again and put it back in. Now it won't stop making a rattling/buzzing noise. And everytime I try to turn it off and turn it back on again, the filter stops working because the impeller came loose and I have to twist it back on again. It seems as if there's nothing really to hold the impeller down.

Am I installing something wrong or is this a common problem?

You're turning the black cover that goes over the impeller to the closed position right? Sorry if that's a silly question.

hahaha okay I figured it out. Turns out the oring on the impeller cover was not fitted on correctly. I snuggled it back into position and now it works perfectly....for now

Glad you figured it out. I worry what I'll do if I do break an impeller on one of mine. Guess I'd have to replace the filter.

There are impellers available for really cheap for these out there easy to get. In fact several of the parts like main seal/oring, manifold, fittings and spray bat parts as well as impellers. I don't buy the sun sun labeled models, I get the aquatop. Basically the same filter. Places like truaqua carry parts. Impeller is like $10.00. There are other places to. It's also the same filter as the Marineland model canister.

Yeah I have the Marineland c series 220 that's the same size as the h302 (or whatever it's called lol). I've been meaning to see if the impeller would fit.
