To attach, some people use fishing line, because it's clear. Other people use cotton thread, because eventually it'll rot and the anubias will have attached by then. Still others use superglue (cyanoacrylate gel) for various reasons. Superglue is shrimp safe, but turns white underwater, so if you go that route, make sure either the plant or the wood covers the white spot.

Here's a shocker for you all, I work at a retail pond/aquarium store. We have nana in the goldfish tanks, these run in the 40s and 50s this time if year! Not growing quick but totally fine!
