I am not sure what you have in your filter, since your choice of words is confusing. However, neither Purigen nor polyfilter padding will absorb liquid fertilizers. Purigen may have some affinity for nitrogenous compounds, but this is usually for organic nitrogenous compounds.

Thanks ,I had no idea , just assumed they removed anything that was in liquid form.
I use one or the other in my filter so good to know.
