Algae and Tall Plants.

Some of my plants (read: amazon swords lol) have grown so big, they are drooping at the water line. This creates a problem. They are inches from the Finnex Ray 2, and are receiving an enormous amount of PAR. There isn't much movement at the surface, and I have noticed BBA growing on almost all of the tall leaves. What can I do to combat this? Ive been chopping the leaves that reach the surface off, but they are growing quickly. I may have to bite the bullet and just chop every tall leaf away, which I didnt really want to do:[ Any ideas?

For the record, its a 25g tank (18" H), I use pressurized co2, EI ferts, Finnex Ray 2 @ 7 hrs per day.

Do you use seachem flourish excel? I hear it helps with algae. might want to check it out

also, the siamese algae eater fish is really good with algae

I was having the same problem in my 90 gallon. The sword leaves that had reached the surface eventually got staghorn algae on the tips. I raised my light up 2" and increased surface agitation. Didnt cure all of them, but it helped.
