Fluval Spec V light fixture

I've been eyeing this aquarium for a while and want to purchase one soon. I'm not terribly concerned with the amount and quality of light that the fixture emits considering that I want low tech...however, looking at many pics, it seems that the fixture has a problem with holding itself up. So Spec V owners- does your lamp sit straight or does it tilt downwards?

I removed the light and went with the 12" Beams Works 37 LED fixture. Looks so much nicer also.

But did the factory light fixture lean or not?

Mine leaned. I swapped it for a fluval light?

I have 2 Spec V's, and both lamps took a little tweaking to get them parallel with the tank.

The issue is the little plastic knob that braces the LED bracket arm. With too much torque/adjusting, it will eventually give out.

I ended up prying off the plastic mounting bracket on the tank from my office Spec and glued it to my home Spec so i can use 2 stock lights there, and a Finnex Fugeray in the office for more PAR. The stock light won't grow high light plants, but is good for your low light anubias and such.

Ah, thanks! Exactly the info I was looking for...I'm planning on moss and fern. Haven't had an aquarium in years so I want to avoid complicating things for the time being.
