Does Eco Complete and PFS look good?
Hi guys. I was just in the process of buying substrate for my 46 gallon. I was wondering if i could mix pool filter sand with eco complete. The reason i dont want to do all PFS is im not really fond of the white look. And i cant do all Eco complete because of the price (student budget) so i was wondering would the salt and pepper look of 50% of each substrate look good in a tank? I've read about a few people doing this and they say its looks fine. If anyone has any pictures, it would make my day if your could post them
Thanks |

It would wind up looking more like the top half of an ice cream sandwich instead of salt and pepper. The PFS will fall through the EC.

I would have to disagree. In my experiance, blasting sand will scratch up your tank. I wouldnt mix diff colors either... Too tacky IMO You'll be alot happier with the overall appearance if you bite the bullet and save up for a couple months to buy the eco-complete you need. Take the extra time to plan the hardscape and plant choice. Patience will pay off.

Better yet, use the eco for a dirt cap!
