Woohoo! I ordered some Java Fern from someone online, and when it came, it was FULL of holes and black spots (algae, I think).
I had to trim most of it away.
Having read that Java Fern and Java Moss come from underneath waterfalls where they cling to rocks and take nutrients from the strong flow of water, I tied it to a piece of driftwood directly in the current from my filter, where it waves around quite a bit from the strength of the current. Most plants wouldn't like this, I think, but this one has already started growing little plants along its leaves as well as from down by it's crown. Guess strong current is the way to go with these guys.
