Oh no once i found citric acid i never went back to yeast. In tjat case i probably messed up by opening the bottle a little to let some gas out right? I just saw it and was like oh damn!!!!! Shes gonna bloooooow!!!!
No i do the 200g of citric and 600ml of water with 200g baking soda and 200ml water. I was worried cus on other co2 kits you can see the pressure release valve and i jabent found a listing for this kit that says it has a release valve
Supposedly soda bottles fail at around 150psi. They're over-engineered as regular pressure from the carbonation is around 50psi. If you leave one in a hot car it can reach 100psi. 5kg/cm2 converts to about 71psi which is fairly close to the standard working load they're under at the bottling plant so I wouldn't worry about that too much. Now, the psi that Chinese-made setup can handle is another matter but I wouldn't worry about the bottle exploding.
Go get some dry ice, a set of binoculars, and an extra bottle and record the pressure that it fails at. Should be a fun experiment. Stay back at least 30 feet though...preferably behind a wall too.
I thought about doing this as well a while ago. I know it wont blow and if you think about it the connection from hose to valve or check valve would push out before the bottle would blow.
i run a diy co2 yeast mixture on my 33long and i have blown quite a few bottles up here lately, messing with the mixture ratio for a good steady stream out of a ceramic diffuser...... so no the line will not go before a bottle !myth busted! also i superglue my lines at connections so that may also be a problem for them to blow up, for there is no way for the pressure to get relief fast enough before the bottom of the bottle goes, also i keep these in a 5gal bucket with a lid so incase they blow when i am not home it doesn't make a mess
