Tropical Fish Wholesale is opening a retail shop? So they can raise their prices even higher. Haha, their current shop is already retail. The word wholesale does not imply true wholesale prices. They were pretty good for African Cichlids until the hot water springs dried up. I would definitely recommend The Fish Hub for Cichlids, if it's even called that anymore. Fish come in from Europe and are top notch Cichlids. Bob Allen backs them and he is one of the top Tanganyika breeders in Utah and president of the GSLAS, or was... If you are into aquascaping and planted tanks by far the best store in Utah is Animal Ark. Located in Orem. They have the best equipment, fish and plants. They have Current Satellite fixtures, Finnex, ADA tanks, Aquasoil, Eco-complete, TPT ferts from a well known member, Tom Barr Manzanita, Seachem Aquavitro, awesome aquascapes by Mike and John. The list goes on and on... Mike supplies some of the newest and rarest plants in the hobby. He is a plant hoarder and he shares his addiction with local customers. You cannot find these plants in most LFS around the US.
And what is with all these Reefer recommendations. Yeah I like Reefs, but don't say, "Well I guess it is dependent on what you are in to." Well duh! We are on a planted tank forum, uh, not a reef forum, so don't recommend reef stores and try and compare them to my recommendations. Look, I haven't met very many reefers or reef stores that can truly and properly grow plants, let alone build an amazing aquascape-the term by the way refers to freshwater aquariums, so get a new term for saltwater. They all claim they can do it, because of pride, but the only one that could was Aquatica, and not because of Sean, the owner, but his two helpers he used to have back in '07-'09. Two employees, who at the time didn't really mean much, but now I realize how talented they were. They had a kickass planted tank back in the day. Not because of Sean.
