Doing some emersed for the first time and was wondering if this plant could grow this way? Also how high should the water be when growing emersed, it should break the substrate line i presume. Got it suran wrapped off to save the humidity and a bunch of lights on it. is 130 Watts too much at 23" of the bottom?
My rotala rotundifolia never breaks the water's surface. It just grows longer horizontally across the tank. I don't think the stems are strong enough to allow the plant to break the surface. I have it growing in a couple shallow tanks and it just gets really really long and starts sending out aerial roots. Good luck.
Rotala rotundifolia has a different leaf shape than your picture when grown emersed.
