New Tank?

I am looking into getting a custom tank from Miracle Aquariums In Toronto CA. I am going acrylic rimless 35L 20W 20H which is just over 60 Gallons.

I measured it out and I feel the size would be perfect for some sweet aquascapes. Why is it so hard to find long and wide tanks? IDK how people get depth with some of these tank sizes.

Any comments or suggestions?

I know acrylic scratches, but idc I like the clarity, low iron glass still isn't the same!

There is a thread a few below on acrylic tanks in particular: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=180732

My first suggestion would to go with 36 in over 35 in. That will insure lighting will fit and be easy, otherwise some may not fit. Even if you have a fixture in mind or are hanging it, that extra inch may help if you change it up or help with resale down the road.

I would personally go a bit longer, or more shallow, or a combination. That's all personal preference. I like tanks that are wide, and I also prefer tanks that are deeper than they are tall (not a must and it doesn't have to be significantly deeper than tall either). That's just me. Take a 40 breeder, it's very similar to what you want but but just slightly more deep than high.

Thanks for the advice! Ill go with 36" that totally makes sense. I noticed ADA 75-p and a few others like the 120 are = in depth and height. I think that ration makes for a good aspect or what ADA calls the "golden rule" lol.

I will most likely have hanging lights but i may get this http://www.fishtanksdirect.com/Marin...InchTimer.aspx

I also like wide tanks, but my living area wont permit anything longer than 40" wide. This will be my first "big" tank and I want it to be perfect. I like the long tanks but I haven't found one that is deep enough to do any "real" scaping. Idk maybe its just me lol.

Well I just found out who im not using, Glass Cages! .... Rude! for no reason when I asked if they would do a rimless acrylic. There like NEVER ever ever ever like redundant and condescending, and couldn't wait to get off the phone.

I know we don't allow reviews but really...............?! People wonder why businesses fail.

Yeah, Glass Cages gets mixed reviews here. It seems at best, you get most of what you want and they are hard to deal with. Many people have said they are very hard to deal with.
