After some reading about the plants it said to cut off the brown areas to save the leaves, but it still looks like the new growth is healthy too me.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I will pull the plants this morning and clean up the mess.

My ferts have not changed, and I do not does excel.

pH is 7.2

All the other plants in my tank look good, no decay, melting, no holes, just these guys, I have about 10 in the tank total, and all doing same thing. I am thinking it shock from adding them or they did not ship well.

My light was custom made by catalina aquarium, because of very limited space in my canopy.

The lights are total of 320 watt. 4 80 watt bulbs. I think they are 4 feet long and they are staggered.

Okay, are they t5 or t5ho lights. The watts don't matter. Watts are energy draw, not light output. Different bulbs put out different amounts of light while using the same amount of energy (watts).

80 watts are 5' just FYI

TO the Op's point they are HO, I dont think they make a 80 Watt T5NO

Actually that is very common for wide leaf Sag. It is the emersed leafs dying off. I used to get hundreds of these from Florida at one time, and 90% of the time this would happen unless I had the plants submersed in shallow water with very bright light, otherwise the leaves would get brown and decay and were replaced with new growth submersed leaves that would continue to grow nice and healthy.

Well it does matter in a general way. There is an average lumen output per watt. A higher wattage T5HO will put out more light than a lower wattage bulb of the same type.

Yeah they are 5 feet. I found several places online that do sell 80 Watt T5HO, but now I question what I have, T5 or T5HO. I will need to give Catalina a call today to see what I purchased, I don't recall, unless easy way for me to tell?

Thanks

That makes sense. When I pulled the plants to clean them up, all the roots had great growth and looked in good shape.

I question what I have at this point, T5, or T5HO. I need to make a call today and find out. I guess the main question at this point, if they are T5 only is 160 Watts enough? Or should I turn the other set of lights on? I do have high pressure CO2 on this system and dose ferts.

Thanks

Just peel-off all the rotting leaves. The vals will bounce back just fine.
