Best Driftwood Position?
I have come up with several positions for my driftwood. Once I get hairgrass and dwarf hairgrass and sell some of my plants, I think that placement #1 will look best. Which one do you think looks best?

I know the focal point is supposed to be a little off-center, but I like #1 the best.

I like #1 as well.... but would move the DW a bit off center.
But, that's just me. Your off to a good start though Larry |

#2 isn't bad if they weren't both facing the same direction imo

I vote for #4. For it leads the eye towards the left making the tall wood the main focal point.
The light doesn't look strong enough to get the plants to grow to their optimum. I think dosing with Tetra flora pride will help the plants to adapt to the light. Also if your gh and kh are low adding sodium bicarbonate, baking soda, will help. |

Definitely #1 and I think it is OK on center, if you create a focal point with a red or showcase plant that is to the left side of the wood.

I would lay one on its side on the right, and the other sticking mostly straight up like it fell on it, going from the outside towards the center.

#4 and #1 are the most interesting because they both assert themselves as pretty and define a space around them. #1 is the most complex as it stands right now but #4 is more creates a more powerful space as is. Try leaning the vertical stick in #4 at an angle and then growing up plants around that. Then you'll have a much stronger lower-space than in #1 and you'll have the upward motion layout #1 and #2 do so well.

I think that #4 is the most interesting and will provide the best vehicle for a wider variety of plant heights within your tank.

No. 1, but maybe move the wood to one side and add some slop the the substrate making a hill above the wood.
