I'm new to keeping pairs of rams and ended up with 2 males and a female(Bolivians). A male and female seem to have paired up...I think. She spends all her time on his half of the tank. That's about the only indication I've gotten so far. The male she stays near chases her away every other time he sees her. But the loner male is much more aggressive toward her than the male she's "chosen"... does this sound like I've gotten a pair?
The only downside is, the male she chose isn't as good looking as the loner. His fins are more developed, but he's smaller and not as colorful. He also seems to stress easier, turning a dark color if he's bothered while eating. So my question is:
If I were to take the male from the pair out, would the female pair up with the other male?
Whenever this is sorted out one of them will be going back to the LFS or sold to someone locally. My tank is overstocked right now so I'd like to get this figured out. Thanks
