Question

Tank is getting hot


I have a rainbow shark(warm Water)

i have had the tank for a week i woke up today and seen that the temperature of my fish tank was 35C its normally 22C-27C and its been the same i have never changed it so i put in 3 other thermometers and they come up the same still so i turn of the heater its goes to 30C still not on what its supposed to be

the weather hasn't changed in my area if that could be a reason

sounds like a faulty heater to me.

That's what happened when my heater went bad. I had to buy a new one. The thing wouldn't go off. Just kept heating, and heating.

I had a faulty heater "cook" my oscar in a 55gal before. The water was actually hot to the touch.

I would get two heaters rated and half the tank size. This way if one goes bad it isn't enough to cook your fish.
