okok, i know there are charts and all, and i have found an equation, but it has to be flawed. i am wanting to put it into a spread sheet, so i can have a daily record of my CO2 levels, and what not.
anyway... Thanks ~Doug

Its flawed to the extent of the accuracy of your ph and kh testing. It can also be rendered useless if there are buffers or acids in the tank other than carbonates.

his equation had 7-pH at the end--> my pH is right around 7 to 7.2 and that results in multiplying by 0 and that isn't cool, and it also give me "high" negative numbers if my pH is 7.2
CO2 (in PPM) = 3 * KH * 10( 7-pH ), is what i found Thanks ~Doug

The correct formula is 3.6*KH*10 ^ (7-pH)
I use 3.6, but have seen equations with 3, I'm not sure which one is accurate. By taking 10 to the power of (7-pH), it is impossible to get negative numbers or multiply by 0. Hope this helps! -Tim |

you see kor4ever, i was attempting to avoid having to go to a website every time i wanted to calulate this, this way all i have to do is type in my Kh and pH values, and then i have the calulation done for me.
And A BIG thanks to Tim ~Doug
