introducing myself and tank pic


hello everyone my name is dale and im from the uk.

ive been reading the boards for a while and now ive decided i'll post.

this is my tank its been set up for a while now


its a 60 uk litre 15 us gallon tank with 2 x 36 watt T5 lights (1 ASL T5 Power
Compact Freshwater Tropical and 1 ASL T5 Power Compact Freshwater Plant)

ive been lookin for some inspiration for an aquascape as this is basically just how it was thrown together! not properly scaped!

ive been lookin for something as a feature for a while now but havent found anything as yet! not sure wether id like wood or some rock?

any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I love your vallisneria. The canopy it creates in the upper water (while keeping light off of your smaller plants underneath) looks really good.

Looks great! 15 gallons is a great size to work with, and if things don't turn out the way you wanted, it's easy to tear up/remodel.

Some interesting driftwood could make a nice centrepiece, and then you could tie some anubias to it.

If I could make one other suggestion, I'd get rid of that stone photo background. Solid colours (preferrably black) will really show off your plants.

I painted my 55 gallon background black and it took one can of spray paint, and about 30 min of painting and couple hours drying outside, never been easlier, and its so great looking. I like your tank but I agree, some nice short stubby wood would look good. Or maybe if you really wanted to remodel, having a x-mas moss wall as your background, now that shows off your fishes colors! and boy does it look great.

hey everyone

well i managed to get some background, double sided blue and black

not sure which i like tho?





ive also seen some nice driftwood on ebay which i might have a bid on

some more plants have been order to fill a few spaces and to have a proper go at aquascaping!

will post a pic when its sorted

Personally, I prefer the black...

A really deep midnight blue can also be nice.
