Bristlenose: Fin Rot or Battle Scars?

I have 3 BN catfish in my tank, and this is the smallest of them (4.5cm). The two females appear to be progressively missing chunks from their fins. It's not a gradual disappearance, which makes me think there's a bit of rumbling going on in the tank overnight.

Pic attached - what's the verdict: fin rot or battle scars? It's not showing, but the dorsal fin is in good condition.

P.S. And yes, I'm battling a minor BBA issue at the moment

Battle scars, but it CAN turn into fin rot if the water quality is bad. So keep water changes up regularly and don't skip out too much.

You can conclude it's fin rot when white film starts to show up on the broken edges. That's when you start to worry. Luckily, it's easy to fix. A few water changes every few days and it'll go away on its own. :-) If that doesn't help solve the problem, start treating with meds. Though that's rather uncommon.

Security Question
While balancing on a piece of wood, two inches by four inches known as a 2x4, John and his friend Sally both spotted a dalmatian inside of a truck with sirens. The animal with John and Sally is a _ _ _?
