What foreground plant to use?
Ok, here is my tank as it looked a couple of days ago. I changed around the look of it a little bit to encourage better growth and to have larger bushes of plants. However, I feel that the tank may be missing something (like a foreground plant/carpet) and I would like to maybe add another plant on the right side to replace the sunset hygrophila that I have poked there for the time-being. Any help that you can offer I would appreciate it.

I think it would be a shame to cover up that nice white sand with a carpet plant. >:
Dwarf hair grass might look nice on the right side though.

Sand is not a very good base for carpet plants, both in terms of rooting medium as well as for circulation within the soil. Sand will tend to compact over time.
IMO you can consider plants with rizhomes like anubias, ferns etc.

Marselia species would make a nice ground cover, and is easier than HC or Glosso.
Maybe HC or Glosso would work, but I think it's hard to plant them in sand.

I spent a good two hours the other day planting my HC in the sand. NO FUN! Giggle. But it is very happy and growing already.

did you drain the water some to plant the hc? It is a pain to plant sometimes but a month or two later when you have a beautifull thick carpet of it. You look back and think it was soo worth it.

You know I learned all about that draining thing too late. Sigh. The *next* time I do HC I'll drain and grow it that way. I got my HC after all my other plants and they'd have nowhere to live.
