How big is your tank?
Cold water or tropical set up?
What type of substrate?
Etc?

You might want to look at stunningly beautiful Pearl Gouramis. They especially appreciate a planted tank.

Pearl gouramis can get pretty large (4-6"); personally, I'd recommend sticking with dwarf gouramis like Blue, Honey, etc.

IMO rainbows need their swimming room and would do much better in a 48"+ tank, especially since they need to be kept in schools.

What are your water parameters, including temperature?
