Are Silver Dollars safe for a planted tank?
Are Silver Dollars safe for a planted tank?
I have 3 4-5 inch silver dollars. I have had them for 8 years. Will they be okay in a planted tank? Or will they munch on all the plants? |

They will munch from my experience. There are certain plants they wont eat, but your selection of plants is greatly limited by thier presence.

from what i have rea the lower tech plants tend to be in less danger so like java moss, java ferns are ok sometimes. just get a load of cuttings and see which they wont eat.

Silver Dollars are pretty serious plant eaters, but you could try something really tough - maybe float some hornwort and see......
