scaping rocks

Just wondering of a good site to get some decent aquascaping rocks. I can't seem to find nice ones at the stores around me, I'm also trying to scape my nano so it limits me more.

ever try looking outside? I know it's probably snow covered, but they're free, you have a larger selection, and you really dont' need a lot for a nano...

p.s. I sometimes look in those parking lot islands that are filled with rocks. I've found a few nice ones in there....

Only thing with picking the rocks out of nature is I live on the niagra escartment I have two choices in rocks, shale or granite. I'm looking for stuff with a little more charector. I bought some pagoda stone from my work (work in a BA fishroom), but I'v read that that stuff carries ALOT of iron in it and rusts in the tank, not something im comfortable with really, and so the search is on.

hmmm, I see, that does make things diffecult. I've bought rocks from landscaping supply places, usually pretty cheap considering you're only buying a handful of rocks.

You really have to be careful what kind of rocks that you get too because of any leaching of something inside that you aren't aware of. If you don't mind paying a bit, Aquaforest Aquarium has some on their website that are nice. You do have to consider the cost because of the weight of rocks and all. Here is the site...

I am really fighting to purchase some of these for myself as well. They have some character!!

I really like the Shou stones and the Chinese zebra rocks. I ordered a piece of driftwood from them and haven't gotten it yet. I don't even know what it looks like. Excited but scared.

You can get a lot of character out of most stones by breaking them apart. A hammer and chisel works nicely.
