Charlotte Planted Aquarium Club

Hey folks,

I'm finding more and more people in the Charlotte, NC area who are interested in planted aquaria and would like to start up an official organized club. If you're interested in participating please let me know in this thread so I have your contact information on record. At this point I'm hoping to have the 1st meeting at my house sometime in November.

I would be interested. Course I am a brand new beginner, so don't know how much I can contribute--but I have lots of mistakes to share!

Hey PG,
Burlington's a little over one hour from Raleigh and a little over two hours away from Charlotte. Greensboro is close to being in the middle.

Phil,

I'll be living in Charlotte by April 06' and would be more than happy to attend some plant meetings here and there. I think we may have met while I was in town late Oct. at Fintastic?

If you get this thing running be sure to let me know.

I wish I could be there in time for the Raleigh auctions, sounds like good fun.

I'll see you guys at some point I'm sure.

Hey! Yes, we did meet at Fintastic. I'm glad to hear from you. Things should definately be on the up side of getting organized by April if they're not already going by then. I was just made president of UNCC's biology honor society next semester and I've got a feeling I'll be doing the same for the Earth Science society as well. Those two might take up precious aquarium club time.

Well, I'm here in town now for good. Just got up here (a few months later than I thought), and have settled down in the SouthPark area. I'll be setting up my new tank over the next week and would love to find some people locally who might want to trade plants eventually. Are there many folks here that trade locally or did you guys ever get the local club up and running? I've seen the CAAS site already and plan on heading down the street (finally, something fun that's close enough for me to attend) to the auction next month.

Check out this site to see the CAAS site and forums. The club is a pretty good size and full of lots of nice people. They hold monthly meetings, and several swaps/auctions through the year. A great resource for captive raised/bred fish of all sorts and a wealth of information. Check out the site and come to the next meeting if you're able to.
