how much is your water bill?

Just wondering how much the monthly water/electric bill is like in Cary/Apex/Morrisville/Raleigh area for fish tank keepers.

We moved here a year ago from Cape Cod. Water is one of the only things I have found so far that is more expensive here. Fresh swordfish is another....

Anyway, here in Brunswick County my water bill last month was $135.65. Broken down it was $22.25 for regular water, $24.25 for Sewer Charge and $89.15 for irrigation.

Thanks for the info, quick question about the irrigation charge. Is that 89.15 charge another "mysterious" number on your bill? Or are you referring to something like watering the farm land?

I'm trying to put a budget together and want to figure out the typical monthly utility cost in NC for single family homes, electricity, gas, water...you know, the stuff that you'll have to pay on top of your mortgage bill.

We have two water meters. One water meter is for the water consumed within the house. The other is for water consumed outside, like for watering lawns, plants, etc.. We only pay the sewage charge on the water consumed in the house. The "irrigation" referred to a buried lawn sprinkler system.

I live in Cary and my water/trash bill has doubled in the past five years. I'm currently paying about $55 a month.

Electric varies and is harder to judge. Its way less than it used to be since I replaced my HVAC last summer. I keep the house at 72 degrees which costs some money.

My parents have a place in Brunswick County and pay even more. My dad is a bit crazy with the five zones of irrigation.
