I am looking to get a fixture from AHSupply but don't know which one to get. At first I thought about getting the 2x36 for 3.6wpg but it will not fit evenly over the 30'' tank. Does this matter? Will I get the full 3.6wpg or will there be lots of dead spots?
Any help is appreciated. thx.

Check this one out :

I know the bulb is still not 30" long but at least it has 30" fixture.

I would go with an All-Glass 30" Compact Fluorescent Strip. It comes with the best plant bulb you can get.

Here is a link.

Plus it's a good price also.

I got the 30" JBJ light fixture for my 20G long tank, but you have to change the bulb out because it comes with a 50/50.

Thanks for the info. But I am definitely going with a kit from AHsupply.com. I just wasn't sure if the 1x55w would be enough or should I use the 2x36w which would probably leave me with some dead spots because the bulbs arent long enough. I have a 36g with a 2x55w kit and DIY hood and a 2.5g with a 13w kit and DIY hood. Ahsupply is the way to go, just a matter of watts.

I went with AHsupply. It's great, and if your set on it, I definately support your choice. I used the 55W kit and would recommend that for your 20L. The 2X36 watt is too short, only 17 inches.

Thanks. Yeah I think I'm going to go with the 55w kit, thanks for all the comments.

EDIT: On further inspection this tank I aquired is actually a 30g, hehe.. The measurements are 36 x 12 x 16. I guess I will just go with a 96w kit/or fixture. I can get one of those 36" 1x96w coralifes for around $90, it's going to cost me $100 to buy a bulb and a 96w ahsupply kit. It is also going to cost me extra to buy supplies to build a hood. So is the reflector in the aqualight sufficient to light up this aquarium? Are the reflectors that much better on the ahsupply that it would be worth the extra $20-30 for wood and all the labor/time involved? Thanks.

Matt
