fern id


In the past few months i have traded/bought ferns and now dont know which is which..
So help me out with this one.. Is this Philippine Java fern or regular Java fern??

they are both java, just sub spp.

from what ive read and seen (which isnt much) phillipine ferns have a more waffled look to them than regular java's. That one looks pretty waffley to me so i would have to go with phillipine. However just remember they are both technically java ferns just subspecies

Yee Sorry i just edited the post.. Both are different species of java

I also read that the philippine fern has more of a "hammered" look to it, or as you described waffled. I just looked at the ferns in my brothers tank and they are 100% regular java ferns and they look smoother compared to mine

Im actually planning to sell some, along with plenty of other plants (just did a big rescape). Just need to figure out a good price for it.. Or save it later for a trade :P

well, heres a little note, aquatic magic sells them for 6.95 each (20 leaves), but they are a rip off, so PM me with wat you would sell for

i got a big 40 leave bundle off ebay for $10 they were from the malaysia and they were java fern but it was very healthy and for a realy good price
