The Slooooooow 12" Cube Journal

Hi everyone,
Long time reader, first time poster.
I've had a desire for a long time to do a rimless tank, I've been slowly collecting some parts and finally have a few nice slabs of glass and an led light that makes me feel like I can play with the big boys.
I'm facing a first time challenge on this tank for me, it needs to look good from two sides, a front facing side, and the side facing my bed.

Before this tank gets wet, I'd like a pressurized CO2 setup, (A first for me, I've only ever done DIY before)
A hopeful change will be to switch out the little corner filter for a Eheim 2213 with if money allows, stainless steel lilly pipes. The less equipment in this tank the better. Aqua Soil Amazonia Powder will eventually be added to the tank,

I think UG may be the only plant in this tank.
I'm really wanting to have a serious go at shrimp.
(But who really knows how this will end up.. I sure don't)

Here is the scape from the front (the less important side to me)

Here is the side I'll see from my bed, and the side I favour in the scape,

Things to "do"... purchase still:
-Amazonia soil
-Regulator in the $100 zone
-Reasonably priced CO2 cylinder
-Eheim 2213
-CO2 diffusion method of undetermined
-Inline heater
-Lilly pipes

If any of you have tips on where to grab a good deal on any of these items in Canada OR the US, feel free to drop me a PM!

Thanks for reading, and more to come.

Did I emphasize slow enough in the initial post? Regulator and steel Lilly pipes are on route to my location... Still need to pick up substrate, and I've been unable to find the foreground plant I've been looking for. Looks like It might be switching over to HC, since it's readily available in my area.

Aqua soil is in! I THINK this is where it will stay for awhile.

I ordered 6 fire red shrimp (are these cherries?) that are going to stay in this spec, until the cube is cycled and ready to rock in a few months.

As soon as I get my regulator, and have my CO2 tank filled, expect this tank to get planted!

That's it for today...

Cool little set up. Love the idea of the co2 tank like that.
What are you planning for plants?

pferris, Thanks for clearing that up for me!

Emplanted, I'm hoping to put in some UG if I can get my hands on it, (if not, HC) Not sure if I want it over the whole tank or a mix with something else.. A couple years ago when I saw these tanks scaped in this style I always wanted to try it.. this is my first stab at it! (a little late to the party, but oh well!)

The CO2 tank is an awkward 7lb tank, its tall and skinny! so to compensate for that a hole in the stand was made.. I also thought it would be cool to have the regulator be visible, (my first pressurized CO2 setup )
