You can buy bags of lava rock at Home Depot in the grill/bbq section.

You can buy larger rocks at quarries very cheap. Home depot is perfect for the smaller ones.

Its in the BBQ section lol. Anything that has a fish logo on it is three times the price. You gotta think outside the box.

Petco Union Square actually has a decent amount of both black and red lava rock. The red is much cheaper, at like $5 a stone.

$5 a stone? That's really expensive.

The stones aren't small. The cost for the black is insane, though. $15 a pop.

I'd rather hit up either Pacific or Monster Aquarium for lava rock. $2-$3 a pound in various sizes.

How big of a piece are you looking for? I have a 1/2 foot sized interesting piece and a few black stones.

I was actually at Home Depot tonight and checked out the lava rocks. It's $4.97 for a 7 pound bag. One bag was opened and I checked out the pieces and it is small. Think of it as a less flat but a rounded chicken mcnugget. And it also wasn't all the same color. Red and blacks were mixed in

Hope this helps

Same. I just know I was in Petco earlier this week and that they had a fair amount.

Well I'm deciding on whether to have shell dwellers with sand or a buce tank with lava rock hills/mountains and aquasoil.
Would appreciate any suggestions!!!

For individual buces, grab a bag of bbq lava rock from Home Depot. For an actual buce scape, hit up Monster or Pacific for rocks of varying size.
