Help I'd plant

Please help me out. I pulled these out of ny local river because I liked them. They start to come out of the water when they get big. O just planted them yesterday and seem like they took hold they are upright going towards the light. I live in northeb California if that helps. Also there were a lot of scuds I decided to keep and cultivate for my African cichlids to eat. Thanks guys

Where are you located? That'd help with the plant ID.

OP said lives in northern California.

Funny, I just found something similar and asked about it on here too. It was growing on my patio where I've been dumping my aquarium water.

Mine is much younger though as of right now, they are much smaller than yours and to me resemble Baby Tears or Moneywort... I don't know for sure though. Here is a picture of the ones I just found and I'm in southern California.
