Tim's new toy! 125g Entertainment Center

Sorry for the low quality cell phone pic - wanted to show off my new purchase! It's a custom entertainment center that holds a 125g aquarium. The part where the TV is sitting lifts up for access and the TV will be mounted on the wall. I'll post pics as I go, but it's going to be a while before I gather everything I need to start.

I'm still in the planning stage, but it will definitely be planted and probably have discus. If they don't work out, I'll do rainbows. For lighting, I'm thinking a strip of Finnex Ray2 and a strip of MonsterRay. I really want to get a complete carpet in the foreground. It will have pressurized CO2 and get dosed EI.

I need opinions on the background - black or 3d stone insert? I'm looking at Universal Rocks' "Rocky Background".

That's cool, I would invest in a bigger TV too. Can't wait to see how it comes together.

Oh yeah - bigger TV is step number one! That little thing would look so out of place in there.

Off topic, but I have a cat that looks a lot like that one (from what I can see)

I see the note about the lid hinging, any pictures? I love the concept, just curious.

Love it! I'd spend more time staring at the tank than the tv lol. I'd also go overkill and make all the shelves hold tanks too. If that cabinetry/setup fell apart it'd be a damn flood *grabs a live raft*

I'll take a picture of the hinged lid lifted when I get home. It has a gas strut to hold it up, but I'm going to have to do some modification to fit a light fixture. There are wooden support braces that line up with the tank support braces and go all the way from those to the lid when closed. The guy that built it had a small 18" fluorescent fixture between the braces, but that wouldn't be nearly enough light for what I want to do.

I got the lights installed today. I went with a row of Finnex Ray2 and a row of Finnex MonterRays. Here are a couple of pics:

So the equipment list I have so far:

-Finnex Ray2 36" x 2
-Finnex MonsterRay 36" x 2
-5lbs CO2 tank with Aquatek Regulator
-Cerges Reactor made with a 20" filter
-Cascade 1500 Cannister filter
-Aquatop inline UV sterilizer
-Koralia 425 x 2 (for middle dead spots - still looking for a bigger one on the end for circulation - most of the ones that will reach 6 feet seem like they'll uproot plants)
-4 120mm Fans on a fan controller with temp probes (1 fresh air and one exhaust from the cabinet and 2 blowing on the water - we live in Memphis and have trouble getting the house below 82-84 degrees - overheating is a real concern with my tanks)
