Heres a picture of my tank now. I need some foreground and maybe a new backdrop. The backdrop I have is actually a picture of a planted tank. I think I want to paint the back a midnight blue or black.

Wow, Marcel! That is not merely, but quite sincerely beautiful!

You got the swords to help conceal the back of your tank nicely! Mine grow straight up on long stems right out of the water. Maybe it's the species I have, I dunno.

Anyway, very VERY nice!

Take care...

Tim

BTW, How do you insert an image into the post so that the image automatically appears when its read? Not an attachment like I did above.

You need to put the pictures on another web server and use the img BB code.

If you right click on one of the images in the one I posted the other day and look at its properites, you'll see that it comes from

www.mwtel.com/tim/images

I made the /tim and then the /images directories on my company web server.

There may be another way to do it, but that's the only way I know.

Take care...

Tim

Very nice Marcel , very natural look !
Keep this up Im gonna have to start calling you Frode !
And dang bro...that crypt is huge !
The tank has a very sirene look to it and that S&B Angel looks like a whopper when I compare it to tank dimensions. How old is he ?

Also dont worry about your foreground... we got ya covered there very soon
( get yourself a long thin slate piece for strapping in the next couple weeks)

Buck
Beautiful Tank Bro !

Buck: the angels about 2 1/2-3 years old. He was tiny when I got him. I got some slate laying around (pack rat). Whats the best way to secure the Riccia, Hair net?

lanstar: The swords will grow full if they're not shaded by themselves or something else. To the left ,rear, I have a red rubin sword that has the long stems and I'm trying to keep the older leaves trimmed back so that the new leaves grow in fuller.

Tank is terrific! You should be proud.

How long have you been working with planted tanks? I'm almost afraid to start after seeing what you guys have done.

About 3 years now. The first year was a feable attempt, trying to shortcut the lighting, using DIY CO2 on a 75 gal tank, not really knowing what fertilizers to use, listening to the LFS as they steered me wrong everytime or gave me a blank stare when I asked them questions about plants.
I wanted a beautiful planted tank like the ones I saw on these pages. So I spent every spare moment learning the basics and then the finer points. I learned quickly that there are many ways to do it, and everybody has thier opinions, most of them good. So I took what I needed and left the rest. I'm still learning every day and trying different things. Its an awesome hobby, and very relaxing, for me anyway. Its so cool to watch people come into my house and walk straight for the fish tank.

Marcel
