Anyone from Minnesota?

I just recently got a job offer for a Co. my old boss is part owner of, in Brooten. The major things affecting my decision are leaving behind family and friends, and the extreme cold weather. Never in my life would I leave my g/f (Rachel927) behind, so she'd be going with. But she's not adapt to cold at all. Hell, she's cold when it's 80 degrees out.

I come from Indiana where I have lived my whole life. I've looked at the map for Brooten, and it looks like there is NOTHING even remotely close to this place. St. Cloud is about an hour away, and Minneapolis is about 1.5 hours away. Every town within 20 miles of the place is extremely small. I'm afraid if I did do this, we'd be bored out of our minds!

Decisions I am faced with making, and I want to find out all the info I can. Thanks!

I grew up in Alexandria, about an hour NW of St. Cloud. Spent some time in St. Cloud. Lots of recreation available if you lakes, fishing, etc. Winters are very cold. I live in Florida now if that tells you anything.

Well they are flying us out there in the next couple weeks for a few days, to check out the facility, the people, and the area.

I'm in Minnesota.. It's cold, your blood will thicken in a few years, and it won't seem as miserable. Never heard of Brooten, but Saint Cloud isn't a bad place to visit. The local aquarium society meets in the cities the first thursday of every month. Their website is http://www.mn-aquarium.org if your interested. The auction was yesturday, so there won't be another one for a few months. The cities have alot to offer if your looking for something to do...

I'm more worried about the remote areas, as in Brooten, and being bored out of my mind! Like I said, we'll be there hopefully next month to see what it's all about.
