DoAqua! 36cm Bonsai tree April 28, 2014

So.. I put my 60p on hold, working on this tank because it will be Part of Aquascapes in Hawaii's Layout show..

This is my first time doing something simple. Simple is pretty hard but I know in the end the patience is always rewarding... So here's my DSM Specs

DoAqua! mini M (5.4 gallon)
Archaea 12" 27 w power compact
ADA aqua soil

Bonsai Tree from REVSPEED
Some donated Anubias Petite from EBI

a lot of my left over Monte Carlo

first part.. Signed up!

I know I know I stole this off google. Thanks for the person who posted this! It was a great idea for me kto try and make something similar.
my beginning of my dry start.

laid out my Monte Carlo saturated my soil with water...

Let me know ur guys opinions and stuff on what I could do..

Sleeping with the fishes! Sorry couldn't resist when I saw your tank on the bed.

I got a couple of those trees as well and received them yesterday. They are really cool. Did you do anything to prep your tree?

Like the scape. One opinion and option I would give, maybe find some small rock/stone to place between some of the roots possibly. Really looks fine the way it is, just thought the rocks between the roots would give it a more aged look (like it took a while to grow there).

I boiled mine, Not sure if that's necessary.

Great Job! Also a very smart choice entering a small tank in the contest. It's such a pain to transport/setup/breakdown a larger tank just for a couple of days.

I've been a little busy setting up an experimental tank. I want to enter but that date is getting closer and I haven't really prepared anything... So maybe, lol.

Tank wasn't doing good in DSM so as of 5/11 my tank is flooded. Having second thoughts about a Monte Carlo tree with Monte Carlo foreground... Any thoughts ?
