I think I need to do a trim now. been 48 hours since i added another DIY CO2 and the algae has started to die and the plants have actually grown an inch or 2... yes in 48 hours. 2 photoperiods.

Wow I had no idea those algae-eating shrimp could grow that large! I've been wanting some for my 55g tank, but I've been afraid that they'd simply become food for my adult 3"-4" Angelfish. Did you buy them that large?

That is not an algae eateng shrimp... Just a Glass shrimp. Eats anything but plants and algae(leftover food, dead fish, waste, deadsnails)

46 Gallon BowFront with a Bow Front canopy I made. I'll add pis of that tonight.
2 96W bulbs and 1 25W Water Temp 80F PH 6.8 2 DIY C02 Bottles fed into my AquaClear 300. I got a vortex reactor in today from plantguild.com and WIll be hooking it up tonight. Right now the C02 is @ 15PPM and I am hoping to get it around 18-25PPM with the vortex and a third bottle. I'll probably add the vortex and see how that does for 48 hours before adding a 3rd bottle. Dont want to shock the fish with a huge increase of C02. Scott |
