I have a total of 5 tanks currently operating and am looking to upgrade my lighting. I would like to put some decent lights over my 3 large tanks 180x60x60cm in size and would like to do so as economically as possible. What would you suggest that would let me successfully grow various species of swordplants in these tanks?

Hmmm..... Cheapest would be VHO hands down... You could grab 2 or 3 165 watt bulbs for each of the tanks. However.. that would get extremely warm so you would require some form of cooling. Definately not the most efficient lighting, but very cheap to run and maintain (half the price of an equivalent Compact Flourescent setup in Canada anyway)
Alternately, you could get 6 x 55 watt Compact Flourescent Bulbs for each tank, or 4 x 95 watt Compact Flourescent Bulbs.

Can help ya out on the pc cheap JBJ lighting. Good lights and the flip top stand makes getting in the tank a stand compared to others

Aquaman, I just bought a Jebo 4x55 to replace my All-Glass 2x55 and for some odd reason it seems no brighter to my eye then the 2x55. I was wondering if you upgrade from a 2x light to this 4x and what you notice? It almost seems like it does not have a ballast strong enough. What kind of bulbs are you running?
Anyone else have any Jebo experience? Anyone know where I might find a good light sensor to test the two out? Thanks Scott

Brightness (whatyou see) also is also determined by the bulb kelvin

Understood but I moved the two bulbs in the old 2x55 to the new 4x55 which now has 4 10k bulbs. Two are coralife and two are no name.

You need to get a diatom filter ( no i don't sell them so this is not a plug) your site looks great but the water looks like there are tons of particles in it

Well I installed my new GE 9325K bulbs and they do look much better then the 10k bulbs that came with my Jebo but I still don't see much increase in light. I will wait a while and let my plants decided.

I just added my second light, jebo 4x55 a few days ago for a total of 440 watts over the 90 gal yes, thats 4.8wpg directly on the glass canopy. WOW everything is pearling like crazy. As far as bulbs I have 4x6700k in one Jebo and 4x10000k in the other. They are really bright, I didnt notice any dimness in my bulbs, if you look at them its like looking at the sun midday, hurts the eyeballs.
